Wellness
What does the word “wellness” mean? This word, which has become so “fashionable” in the last 15 years, designs the practice of regular and not fatigue-prone physical activity, combined with relax and a healthy dietetic regime, respecting one’s exigencies and keeping healthy habits even during the everyday life, trying to reach the interior balance. This concept can be summed up with the Latin proverb “Mens sana in corpore sano”. The tourism industry has understood this new concept of health, offering more and more solutions to combine holidays with the regeneration of your body and your soul.
The wellness regions
The presence of wellness hotels and wellness centers has increased enormously in the last 15 years and more and more people are happy to spend this kind of holidays in Italy and the rest of Europe. The wellness sector is particularly present in the Italian regions of Trentino- South Tyrol, Veneto, Tuscany and Campania, proposing modern solutions to advertise what in the past were called “thermal holidays”. It’s now possible to spend one’s wellness holidays abroad as well; the most popular wellness destinations are Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia.
